Key items: serving size (not always realistic), total calories, fiber (aim 5g+), added sugars (limit), sodium (2300mg daily max), saturated fat (limit), ingredients list (fewer is better). "Organic" doesn't mean healthy!

I check ingredients first. If I can't pronounce it, I don't buy it.

Per 100g comparison is better than per serving - serving sizes vary wildly.

Added sugars hide in everything! Yogurt, bread, sauce - always check.
